The UTM Office of Admissions has opened applications to be a 2023 Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR) Orientation Leader. The deadline to apply is Friday, November 18, at 11:59 p.m.
SOAR Staff consists of a group of mature and dedicated undergraduate leaders that assist in the implementation of UT Martin orientation programs throughout the spring and summer. An Orientation Leader is the face of UT Martin, serving as a resource to all new students and parents who are making the transition from their previous environment.
Joining the Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR) Staff is more than just a summer job; it is an experience. If you are passionate about UT Martin, want to help new students find their place here at the university, and want to be a part of a team that makes a positive difference for the entire campus community, this is a job for you! Selection to the SOAR Staff team is a unique honor and a rewarding opportunity for personal and professional growth.
In your student email, you can find an email titled "Apply to be a SOAR Leader!" with a full job description of the position. This document includes the minimum qualifications to apply, roles and responsibilities of a SOAR Orientation Leader, and the mandatory dates to work. SOAR Leaders are paid $100.00 per session in the summer. SOAR Orientation Leaders are also required to attend weekly meetings in the spring semester on Mondays from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm. It is recommended for students only from the main campus to apply to be on SOAR Staff.
You are required to have two references listed on the application. All references are subject to being contacted through the interview process.
