Westview Looks to Move to 2-0 in District 7AA in Camden Tonight

The Westview Chargers will be on the road tonight as they travel to Camden to take on the Lions in a District 7AA matchup.


Westview is coming off of a huge victory on the road last Friday in Fairview where the Chargers took down the Yellowjackets by a score of 47 to 14.


Ty Simpson lead the offensive attack completing 21 of 29 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns. Simpson also rushed 10 times for a total of 59 yards. Javion Goins also had a big night with 170 total yards including 82 rushing yards and 71 receiving yards on six catches.


Garner Anderson, the senior receiver, brought down 12 receptions for a total of 165 yards and two touchdowns. Omarion Harris had two catches for 23 yards and one touchdown.


As a whole, the Charger offense had 25 first downs and 443 total yards of offense.


Simpson and the Westview offense also got a lot of help from the defense. Drew Shanklin was the leading tackler with 12 total tackles and Hayden Smith brought down the Yellowjackets 10 times.


On special teams, Jackson Abel was 5-5 on extra points and 2-2 on field goals from 25 and 35 yards.


The Camden Central Lions come into tonight's matchup 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in District 7AA play. Last week, the Lions were on the road in McEwen, Tennessee where Camden got trounced by the Warriors by a final score of 44-22.
