UT Martin suspends out-of-state travel

Officials with the University of Tennessee at Martin sent an email to their student body Wednesday morning confirming that university out-of-state travel is suspended.

UT Martin Chancellor Dr. Keith Carver reassured students in the email that no cases are confirmed in the area, but that precautions need to be taken.

The email reported that non-essential travel is cancelled. The Provost or Vice Chancellors can approve university travel under certain circumstances.

International travel was cancelled Thursday, Mar. 5.

WUTM News reported on Vanderbilt University after they cancelled in-person classes until the end of the month. Murray State University has created a voluntary travel form for students who travel over spring break.

Keep checking in with WUTM News for the latest updates on this developing situation.
