Free t-shirts and door prizes were handed out last night at UT Martin’s second annual Student Government Association State of the University Address.
First every SGA Secretary Press Veronica Kanka opened the event and welcomed everyone then handed the mic to SGA Secretary General Jacob Butler, who talked about the importance of Student Government Association.
Then, SGA Vice President Hunter McCloud said he would continue the fight to use credit and debit as well as Skyhawk Silver in the campus vending machines.
Finally, President Devan Majors gave the three main goals of SGA this year, which includes improving traffic and parking on campus, a major campus building project, and general SGA student outreach.
Part of the student outreach includes the new SGA position for Press Secretary, who is in charge of social media for SGA and sending press releases. Student Appreciation Week is also part of student outreach, which is why there will be events all week around campus.
