MARTIN, Tenn. – The Student Government Association and Student Nurses Association are partnering to work on Packs for Pals this week, Nov. 14-18.
The collections that will be given to these children will include basic necessities. The clubs are asking for donations of new clothes, shoes, hairbrushes, toys, etc.
There will be a table in the University Center Hallway, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. with club members collecting items for displaced children. Most of the time, children are pulled from environments deemed unsafe with only the clothes on their backs.
The donations will be given to the local Carl Perkins Center to distribute the packs as they see fit. The mission of the Center is to provide support to families in preventing and dealing with child abuse in West Tennessee and to help both parents and children meet the practical needs of preserving and improving the quality of family life.
