The University of Tennessee at Martin held a Memorial Service for head basketball coach Anthony Stewart in the Elam Center on Sunday afternoon.
Stewart died unexpectedly last week.
The university decided to keep the memorial private for family, friends and athletic staff due to safety concerns related to COVID-19; however, over 200 people were in attendance over the live stream on Facebook.
WUTM-FM 90.3 also streamed the audio from the service.
The memorial was a reflection on his life as a coach, father, husband and friend, with touching words from Chris Brinkley, Kedar Edwards, Heath Schroyer, and Stewart’s son Anthony.
"It meant a lot that we were all able to come together to celebrate him together one last time," shared Associate Athletic Director of Compliance, Ashley Bynum.
