UTM Rec Day

The University of Tennessee at Martin’s Rec Day was held yesterday at the Student Recreational Center from three to seven.

Campus Rec hosted a cycling extravaganza from 4-6 p.m. Students were welcomed to the Tom and Kathleen Elam Center to try out the climbing wall.

Fitness instructor Kim Olive-Milligan explained that this event is held every year for National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association day (NIRSA).

“We’re cycling three classes back to back with multiple instructors and hype participants in there as well, a lot of fun. And we’re also having a grand re-opening of our Campus Rec climbing wall we’re super excited about that as well," said Olive-Milligan.

Students who participated in these events also received a free t-shirt. Campus Rec holds events like this for students to get out and get active and to promote fitness and wellness.

Interim Director of Campus Recreation David Belote was pleased with how the event turned out.
