UTM offers ACT Prep, college essay workshops

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin will provide students with guidance and information to help them do well on the ACT and to put together a good college essay.

There are five sessions available in UT Martin’s award-winning ACT Accelerator Prep Workshops program. For more than a decade, these ACT Prep classes have assisted students in taking their scores to the next level and, in the process, earning thousands of additional dollars in scholarships.

The Accelerator workshops offered his year will not only cover the same strategies that have increased the scores of countless students, but also cover questions specific to ACT exams given in the last calendar year.

This mixture of time-tested tips and guidance on how to tackle concerns from the most recent exams will give students the skills they need to master this important.

ACT Prep sessions are offered from 8 a.m. to noon on five different Saturdays: Jan. 20, Feb. 3, March 2, March 9 and March 30. Students may take part in one session or as many sessions as they like.

A session is also available from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, to help students compose a college essay. This workshop will cover strategies to help students compose an essay that will draw more attention from readers and feature elements and give them an edge in their quest to obtain more academic rewards.

Instructor Alex Beene has helped students over the last decade to gain acceptance and earn scholarship dollars from more than 100 schools, including some of the top academic institutions in the country.
