UT Martin unable to knock off in-state rival Austin Peay in 72-57 loss

After defeating the Austin Peay Governors on the road on December 30th, the UT Martin men's basketball team was aiming to earn a sweep of the Govs, but a rough night shooting for the Skyhawks resulted in a 72-57 loss to their in-state rival.

The Skyhawks, currently on a four-game losing streak, can't seem to find their shot. In the past two games, UT Martin has shot under 40% from the field and under 25% from 3-point range. However, it will only be a matter of time before this team finds their shot and gets back in a groove. Koby Jefferies led the way in scoring for the Hawks with 14 points and 4 assists, while Josh Endicott poured in 13 points and 8 rebounds.

UT Martin will have to put this game behind them and look ahead to a great opportunity coming up in the form of rival Murray State. The Racers are currently 16-2 and sit atop the OVC riding exceptional play from senior guard Tevin Brown. Head Coach Matt McMahon and his team have yet to lose a game at home as they hold a 9-0 record when playing at the CFSB Center.

Tip-off is set for 7:00 CST on ESPN+.
