UT Martin housing closes as coronavirus precautions set in

The University of Tennessee at Martin has requested that all students move to their permanent home and leave their on-campus dorm before 5 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020 and do not return until campus reopens.

In an email sent to non-commuter students, assistant director of housing Ryan Martin recommended students to take necessary belongings. Students may leave items, but access will be denied.

Community areas will be closed to promote social distancing.

Martin said that students who leave during this three-week period will be refunded for housing and dining fees.

Students who are unable to leave campus can apply for permission to stay on campus. If approved, students will have limited access to services, but that includes food services.

The application to stay on campus can be found on Runway. Students should apply by 5 p.m. Thursday, March 12.
