A "love is love" float that has drawn widespread attention took part in the annual Christmas parade in Union City Thursday.
The float had a rainbow banner and hands of multiple colors under it, and has been the subject of support and threats.
Dwight Tittle said he was inspired to create the float because his son is openly gay, and he wanted to show his support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Some people who oppose the float have been sending threats to the Tittle family, but many people have reached out in support as well. The family intended to have the float in the Troy Parade, but it was cancelled.
Many believe that the Troy parade was cancelled because of the float and controversy surrounding it.
There is no update on Troy's parade's status.
