Nolan Arenado is Golden for the 8th Straight Time

The best defenders in all of baseball were recognized yesterday when the MLB announced the winners of the Rawlings Gold Glove. 11 players took home their first Gold Glove, while seven others added to their trophy case. One of those repeat winners might have to get a new trophy case ordered, after they recorded their eighth straight Gold Glove. Colorado Rockies third basemen, Nolan Arenado is the man who has dominated the position within the National League for the past eight years.

This past season, Arenado ranked first in total chances, double plays, zone rating, ultimate zone rating, and defensive outs above average. The 29-year old tied himself with Scott Rolen for third most Gold Gloves among NL third basemen. The top two spots are occupied by nine-time winner, Mike Schmidt and sixteen-time winner Brooks Robinson.

Arenado began his career in 2013 and since then he's been one of the superstars in the league. To go along with his multiple Gold Gloves, Arenado has been named an All-Star five times, a Silver Slugger four times, and a Platinum Glove winner three times.
