Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl champions for the first time in 50 years. To celebrate, the President shared this tweet:

After Twitter users reminded him that the Chiefs are based out of Missouri and not Kansas, he deleted it. For the best ads of the year, check out this Adweek breakdown.

Iowa Caucuses

The Iowa caucuses are tonight, and according to CNN it will be the biggest test for Democrats hoping to beat President Trump in November's presidential election. Former Vice President Joe Biden, Former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Senator Bernie Sanders and Senator Elizabeth Warren are leading in the state. CNN said the Iowa result is important because the outcome will determine which of the top Democratic campaigns are the most promising, and it will give the top finishers a boost going into the New Hampshire primaries next week. Check out live updates here.

Travel Ban

The Trump administration has expanded its controversial travel ban to include six more countries. One of those countries is Nigeria, and citizens are particularly angry. Nigeria has Africa's largest economy and is the most populous country on the continent, according to CNN. It also has strong ties to the US. The ban does not affect tourism or student travel.

Impeachment

The trial isn't over yet, but it's almost clear how it will end. Senators voted to block any witnesses from being called Friday. Now each side has to offer closing arguments, which will happen Monday. Wednesday, the Senate will hold a vote on whether to acquit Trump. Senators are expected to vote on party lines, so that will likely end the trial.
