A former employee at the Cannon County Sheriff's Department has been arrested following reports of theft from the evidence room. Tony Barrett is the individual responsible for the theft and is no longer employed by the Sheriff's Department.
On Friday, the Cannon County Grand Jury charged Barrett with one count of theft under one thousand dollars and two counts of Official Misconduct. Barrett was arrested and booked into jail.
