WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. -- A former Dresden volunteer firefighter was arrested on an arson charge Wednesday, April 7, a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) release said.

Clark, Codie A. // TBI

Codie Austin Clark, of Sharon, was arrested on one count of Arson of a Place of Worship after a fire on Easter at New Salem Presbyterian Church along Highway 89, the news release said.

Clark was booked into the Weakley County Jail and later released on $1,000 bond.

Special agents with the TBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Weakley County Sheriff's Office and the Dresden Fire Department completed the investigation.

Agents determined the fire had been set intentionally, and the Dresden Fire Department had been conducting an internal investigation involving Clark following a series of recent fires in the area, the release said.
