The UT Martin Skyhawks capture their first OVC title on the road at Tennessee Tech in a 42-3 win.

For the first time in 15 years, the UT Martin Skyhawks are OVC champions and have extended their winning streak to a program-record nine consecutive wins. After going up to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter, the Skyhawks never looked back and held a comfortable 35-3 lead at halftime. Thanks to a dominant rushing performance from the dynamic running back tandem of Peyton Logan and Zak Wallace, UTM rushed for 313 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

The Skyhawks' offense shined with a total of 462 yards of total offense. Peyton Logan rushed for a game-high 116 yards and a touchdown, followed by Zak Wallace, who rushed for two touchdowns of his own on 94 yards rushing. Keon Howard was efficient as he completed 74 percent of his passes on 141 yards through the air and two passing touchdowns.

With the Skyhawks' defense executing coverages to perfection in the secondary, the Golden Eagles had no answers and could not pass the ball down the field. Tennessee Tech quarterback Willie Miller threw for an underwhelming 57 yards, an interception, and only completed 47 percent of his passes. On the other hand, Tennessee Tech put together an impressive performance rushing the football with 72 yards and 80 yards coming from Willie Miller and running back David Gist.

With the Ohio Valley Conference championship secured, the Skyhawks look to finish the regular-season finale on the road at Cape Girardeau against rival SEMO. In their first head-to-head meeting in Week eight, the Skyhawks etched out the win in a 38-30 victory at home. UT Martin leads the all-time series 19-18 but hasn't won against SEMO at Cape Girardeau since 2017.

Kickoff will take place at 1:00 p.m. on November 20.
