Tennessee Runs Rampant over Missouri In Home Opener

After a back-and-forth contest against South Carolina in week one, the Tennessee Volunteers kept the Missouri Tigers winless with a 35-12 win over their eastern division foe. The Vols went a perfect 4-4 on fourth down and posted 422 total yards of offense. Missouri was held to only 126 rushing yards and 218 passing yards.

The big question from the days heading into the game was how well would Cade Mays mesh with the rest of the Tennessee offensive line? The question was answered with a resounding "great," as the Vols line punished Missouri's front seven by providing exceptional holes for Tennessee's one-two punch of Eric Gray and Ty Chandler. The two star running backs combined for 195 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Quarterback Jarrett Guarantano looked much more effective by throwing for 190 yards and one touchdown. The Senior also rushed for two more touchdowns behind his strong offensive line.

#14 Tennessee will have their first major test this Saturday when they take on the #3 Georgia Bulldogs. The Vols last win against Georgia came in 2016 when Jauan Jennings made a miracle catch to beat the Dogs at Sanford Stadium 34-31. Kickoff will be at 2:30 on CBS.
