Not every student wants to run out and join the campus debate team, but every student does need to have good communication skills.
American high schools have taken a recent shift in focus to these soft skills - things like communication skills, people skills and emotional intelligence. Universities continue to focus on developing these traits.
The Career Planning and Development Office is here to help. CPAD is hosting a workshop on Wednesday, September 25 at 7 p.m. in Watkins Auditorium with a panel discussion on communication skills.
The panelist will discuss the importance of communication skills in the workplace and how to market yourself to employers. Light refreshments will be served.
