The 3-0 Westview Chargers were on the road Friday night to take on the 2-1 Obion County Central Rebels in Troy, Tennessee.

The Chargers wasted no time getting the offense started as Westview put up 35 points in the first half. Quarterback Ty Simpson was able to find success both in the air and in the ground.

Obion County's offense was not able to get much going against the Charger defense. The Rebels scored only eight points before half time, which turned out to be their only eight points of the game.

Westview did not look back and went on to win 49-8. Ty Simpson led all of West Tennessee in week 4 in passing with 294 passing yards with two touchdowns to go along with 103 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Running back Marquis Taylor also had a good night with 91 receiving yards and one touchdown as well as 72 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Westview improved to 4-0 on the season while Obion County fell to 1-3.

Westview will have their home opener this Friday at UTM's Hardy Graham Stadium against Covington. Both Westview and Covington will come into Friday's game undefeated.

Kickoff is set for 7pm on September 18. Tune in to WUTM 90.3 for pregame at 6:45 and live play by play at 7.
