UT System drops mask mandate

The University of Tennessee President Randy Boyd announced on Monday, November 15th, the lift of the mask mandate across the UT System. This comes after Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed a new bill on Friday, November 12th, that stated that state entities are not allowed to have a mask or vaccine mandate in place. Certain entities can be exempted from this bill when federal funding is at risk.

According to Boyd, the UT System has applied for the exemption across each campus and all institutions. Everyone affiliated with the system should expect to hear directly from their leadership if the exemption is granted to their campus or institute.
