UT Martin Women's Basketball Knocks Off Eastern Kentucky Behind Big 2nd Quarter
The UT Martin Women's basketball team picked up another road victory in conference play last night. The Skyhawks defeated Eastern Kentucky 65-50, thanks in large part to a dominant 2nd quarter, in which UT Martin outscored EKU 24-3. It was a balanced scoring attack for UT Martin, with 9 of the Skyhawks 11 players pitching in. Junior forward Chelsey Perry provided the biggest spark with 15 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks, to collect her 9th career double-double. Freshman Daisa Young also scored 12 points while Junior Maddie Waldrop narrowly missed a double-double of her own with 9 points and 9 rebounds. The team will look for its 3rd straight win on Saturday as they travel to Morehead State.
