MARTIN, Tenn. – Dr. Stephanie Kolitsch has been named the associate provost for academic affairs at UT Martin, according to an announcement made Nov. 6 by Dr. Philip Acree Cavalier, the university provost and senior vice chancellor for academic affairs.
In the announcement emailed to UT Martin faculty and staff on Nov. 6, Cavalier said Kolitsch would continue to manage all accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges as well as institutional effectiveness.
“From March to August, she did an outstanding job as the acting provost and senior vice chancellor for academic affairs,” Cavalier said in the announcement. “The academic records office and the Honor Program will now report to her, and she will manage the undergraduate and graduate catalog and the quality assurance funding report we submit to (the Tennessee Higher Education Commission).
“Dr. Kolitsch will also support the work of implementing the Quality Enhancement Plan and developing the Center for Teaching and Learning that is part of the QEP. Dr. Kolitsch has demonstrated repeatedly that she is a strong leader who gets things done, and always at a very high level. She and (Associate Provost) Anderson (Starling) work very well as a team, and I look forward to continuing my work with them both.”
Kolitsch was named acting provost and senior vice chancellor for academic affairs effective March 1, 2023, following the resignation of former Chancellor Keith Carver in January, as Cavalier served as the university’s interim chancellor.
In addition to her duties as SACSCOC coordinator, Kolitsch is a mathematics faculty member and holds the rank of professor. She came to UT Martin in 1994 after earning a bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University-Commerce and a doctorate at the University of Texas.
