The OVC and College Sports Madness announced that UT Martin Women’s Basketball forward Chelsey Perry has been named College Sports Madness National Mid-Major Player of the Week and OVC Player of the Week. Perry, a junior from Middleton, Tennessee wins both awards after averaging 27.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 5 blocks a night in 2 Skyhawk wins last week over Murray State and Austin Peay. The hot week for Perry moves her into the top-10 nationally in 4 different categories including scoring and blocks. This marks the 6th time this season that Perry has claimed the OVC Player of the Week Award, becoming just the 3rd player in OVC history to accomplish the feat. The team returns to action Thursday as they travel to take on Eastern Illinois.
