The University of Tennessee at Martin and the WeCare Ministries will co-host the 16th annual Empty Bowls Soup Supper on Nov. 23 in the Student Life Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement created by artists to help feed the hungry in their communities. UT Martin fine arts professor David McBeth, with the help of multiple students and alumni, have created thousands of ceramic bowls since the event first came to Martin in 2003.
Bowls can be purchased for $15 and proceeds will go to the WeCare food bank. Guests are also invited to enjoy soup donated by community members.
For more information, contact McBeth at 731-881-7416.
Check out For the Record on Friday at 10:30 and 2:00 to hear McBeth talk more about how he turned his passion and talent for ceramics into community service. Tune into WUTM-FM 90.3 The Hawk or click "Listen Live" on our website homepage.
