MARTIN, Tenn. -- Casey Hood of Obion County has announced his candidacy for the 24th District State Senate Seat of Tennessee, which encompasses Benton, Carroll, Gibson, Henry, Obion and Weakley Counties, according to a press release.
Hood was born in 1970 in Obion County, where he has lived his whole life. He went to college at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
The press release says Hood has experience as a managing partner of a family business and as a waterfowl guide at Reelfoot Lake.
“When tourism dollars are brought into this region, all businesses benefit. If elected, I pledge to work hard to help bring much-needed industry and commerce to our area of northwest Tennessee,” he said.
Hood recently served as interim state representative for District 77. Hood said he had the chance to meet and talk with people all over Dyer, Lake and Obion Counties. He hopes to look for opportunities for growth in all six counties.
