Western Kentucky University announced Wednesday that all of its courses will shift online after the World Health Organization's declaration of a global pandemic of the coronavirus.
Students will have their spring break extended an extra week through March 22, then classes will resume in the online format until at least April 5.
All university funded trips will be put on hold at this time for safety purposes. Decisions about sporting events will be made by the NCAA and Conference USA.
WKU is one of many universities around the Southeast and the country that are beginning to shift to this format. WUTM News will follow the situation and make updates about future closings on 90.3-FM The Hawk and our social media.
