Weakley County's total confirmed coronavirus cases increased to eight Sunday, April 19. The previous confirmed total, six, had remained constant over the past week. Tennessee reported a total of 7,070 confirmed cases statewide Sunday, with a total of 148 deaths.
Pickett County is the only county in Tennessee that has not reported a confirmed case of COVID. Crockett County was at zero until Sunday, when it reported five.
Gibson County has the most confirmed cases in Northwest Tennessee with 31.
Free testing opened Saturday, and it was available to any person who wanted a test. Previously, individuals had to show symptoms in order to obtain a test. The Tennessee Department of Health says over 11,000 people got tested this weekend.
21-30 year olds account for 20% of confirmed cases in Tennessee, according to the Department of Health, but 81+ individuals account for 32% of the deaths.
