UT Martin student thank soldiers

Browning Hall held their Thank a Solider event last night in room 206 of the University Center. Students came and sent letters as well as prepared care packages for soldiers. Items that were donated for the packages included granola bars and ramen noodles. Students also received community service credits for attending the event.

Browning Resident Assistant Sydnee Kalinisan says Thank a Solider is important for students because it gives them the opportunity to show appreciation.

"I believe that programs like this are very beneficial for students to give back and show appreciation to those who give their time for others. With events like Thank a Soldier students have the opportunity to give without getting anything in return and I think that is something really special."

Students should visit runway.utm.edu for the latest updates on university housing events.
