The Tennessee Volunteers Look To Start The 2020 Football Season Against South Carolina

After ending the 2019 football season on a six-game winning streak, the Tennessee Volunteers have given their fans something to look forward to in 2020. Head Coach Jeremy Pruitt brought in a great recruiting class in the offseason, and has talent returning on both sides of the football.

It was the story of redemption for Vols QB Jarrett Guarantano, who was benched during the middle of the season for Freshman Brian Maurer. Following a 35-13 loss to Alabama, Guarantano threw for over 200 yards in a 41-21 victory over South Carolina. The Senior held the starting job for the rest of the year, and proved why he will be under center in Columbia this Saturday.

Defensively, eight starters return for a Tennessee team that only gave up an average of 15 points a game through the final six games of the season.

The South Carolina Gamecocks led by head coach Will Muschamp will look to bounce back from a four win season last year. Muschamp will roll out Freshman Quarterback Collin Hill for the season opener. The Gamecocks return seven starters on defense, and this will provide a great first test for the Tennessee offense.

Kickoff will be scheduled for 6:30 CST on SEC Network.
