Tennessee Tech student at risk of Coronavirus

UPDATE: The student’s Coronavirus test came back negative, according to the university.

According to the Tennesseean, a Tennessee Tech University student is being tested for the Coronavirus.



The Chinese city Wuhan is victim to the Coronavirus, and the Chinese government has been forced to take precautionary decisions to protect the rest of the country.


Cases outside of Wuhan have been confirmed, including one case in the U.S. According to a Tennessee Tech statement, the student's travel history puts him at risk for the Coronavirus. In the meantime, the student is quarantined.


As of Friday, Jan. 24, 26 people have died in China. According to the CDC, the Coronavirus feels a lot like an upper-respiratory infection or common cold. Symptoms include runny nose, headache, cough, sore throat and fever.
