The Student Government Association and the Black Student Association held A Mile in Our Shoes panel Wednesday in Watkins Auditorium.
A Mile in Our Shoes featured a panel of students from different backgrounds. The panel members discussed topics relating to race, gender and stereotypes.
SGA Multicultural Affairs Committee Chair Ray Washington IV believes that it's important for students to understand what people of other cultures and backgrounds experience.
"It allows students to reveal their truths," Washington said of the students speaking at the event.
