MARTIN, Tenn -- The women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated came together Wednesday afternoon to support Pink Goes Red; Women’s Heart Health Awareness in the Student Recreation Center, instructed by junior Rashadda Dancy.
Over thirty women came out in red for the "Step It Up" class. President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Kyra Jade Turner was pleased with how this event turned out.
“Pink Goes Red is a national event that women of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Incorporated do every year,” said Turner. “This step class was a great and fun way to give college students a break from studying and get their blood flowing.”
Rashadda Dancy instructs Step It Up every Monday and Wednesday at the Rec Center in the group fitness room.
“This is the biggest class I have had all semester. It was a tough full body workout, but the ladies loved it and I hope to see them again next week,” said Dancy.
The women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated will host "Entrepreneurship In Action," informing students how to start their own business, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. in University Center room 229.
