Nashville Back on Track With Pair of Wins

After Peter Laviolette was fired mid-season and new head coach John Hynes has taken over, it seems the Nashville Predators are finally trending upward.

Hynes was able to have his system in effect for the first time when the Predators went on the road to take on the Chicago Blackhawks. The team adapted very well to Coach Hynes' strategies as Nashville defeated Chicago 5-2. Pekka Rinne earned the first star of the game by recording 29 saves and scoring his first NHL Goal. Rinne becomes only the 12th goalie in NHL history to score a goal.

The Preds picked up a huge win in the second game of their three game road trip against the Winnipeg Jets. Yakov Trenin and Kyle Turris connected for the only goal of the game as the Predators beat the Jets 1-0. The Jets are currently 3 points ahead of the Predators in the wild card standings.
