An additional 56,000 acres are now available for public hunting in eastern Kentucky, according to Kentucky officials.
A statement from the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources says the land is located in areas of 8 counties.
Due to new hunting access area agreements, the additional land is available for public use.
Maps and information about the areas, including restrictions, can be found on the agency's website.
There is now a total of more than 1 million acres in Kentucky for public hunting.
