Dyersburg and Dyer County declared October Domestic Violence Awareness Month yesterday. The Wo/Men's Resource and Rape Assistance Program (WRAP) joined them in the proclamation.
Advocates from WRAP and Mayor John Holden of Dyersburg say they've built a strong relationship between the community and the organization even though it's only been in Dyersburg for three years.
WRAP's mission is to provide assistance to those in need and begin to remove the stigma from reaching out for help.
